Your Data Is Lying to You: The Hidden Indicators Evaluations Miss

Every evaluation talk starts after the data is loaded. This one starts before — where the mistakes live.

John Ferrell, co-founder and CEO of WellDatabase, walks through the derived QA indicators most evaluators never see: scoring how much of a well’s reported production was actually measured versus allocated, catching wells that contradict themselves across state records, flagging decline behavior that falls outside the norm for its peers, spotting well counts that don’t reconcile because one wellbore is quietly being counted as three, and separating true outperformers from data artifacts before they poison a type curve.

Earlier she built Chesapeake Energy’s Imaging Center from one person into a 90-person department, then spent years helping companies replace slow manual data entry with automation. She is a member of PPDM, a long-time Director with ARMA International, and is based in Oklahoma City.
