Petroleum Engineer

Matthew Scott is a licensed Professional Engineer serving as Chief Engineer at the Texas General Land Office since 2025.

He previously worked at GLO as a Petroleum Engineer (2017–2018), gaining early experience in land and mineral management.

Since 2017, he has also led Scott Engineering & Royalty Consultants, LLC as President, providing engineering and royalty consulting services.

In 2025, Matthew returned to the Texas General Land Office as Chief Engineer, where he now leads engineering efforts supporting the state’s mineral and land resources.
