Returning to grade his own forecasts, this session puts last year's oil and gas predictions against 15+ months of real field data using decline curve analysis (DCA) in PHDwin V3. Drawing on two anonymized fields — El Feo and Levelland — it compares the firm's forecasts to actual performance and original sell-side estimates. WATER CONTENT EFFECT ON VOLUME & ENERGY CONTENT

Gas volume (Mscf) and energy content (MMBtu) depend on water content and gas composition, and mismatching them to the same saturation basis routinely causes under-reported royalties. This session shows engineers and accountants how to get it right — covering key standards, the difference between dry, as-delivered, and wet Btu content, and how to adjust volume or Btu correctly. It includes a 22-well commingled facility case study and a worked example showing the real dollar impact of getting it wrong.
