Introduction

Stella boasts a decade-long career as a Petroleum Reservoir Engineer, with expertise in reservoir modeling and simulation, reserves assessment and documentation, well and reservoir oversight, design and analysis of well-testing, field progression, and optimizing production. 

Currently pursuing a Ph.D, Stella’s research encompasses Integrated Reservoir Simulation Modeling for Geological CO2 storage projects, Unconventional Reservoirs, and the constructive repurposing of Produced water

With a rich background spanning industry and academia, and a dedication to excellence, Stella stands out as a significant contributor in the realm of petroleum engineering.

Professional Experience

First Exploration & Petroleum Development Company, Petroleum Reservoir Engineer | 2013-2021

  • Analyzed assets for the acquisition of hydrocarbon or divesture in a timely manner.
  • Provided reservoir engineering support in the Integrated hydrocarbon FDP covering the exploration phase, assessment & evaluation phase, definition, conceptualization & design selection phase, design & construction, execution, and operation phase in the acquired field.
  • Proactively developed analytical model and reservoir numerical simulation model with history match and prediction aspects when required for Reserve estimation, production forecast, depletion strategies, preferred well trajectories, well counts, and gas management re-entry program.
  • Planned and executed the drilling campaign of two fields with a current capacity of 40,000bopd in an integrated manner.
  • Delivered the reservoir and production input of the drilling programs and economic analysis & before AFE approvals.
  • Led a team in identifying the downside risks and upside opportunities of the gas storage project.
  • Communicated the team position on technical evaluations, experiments, field studies, Well, reservoir, and facility management with the Management team.
  • Involved in real-time field decision-making, such as the design and execution of data acquisition programs and execution.
  • Led several engineering studies, including flow assurance issues and production optimization.
  • Co-ordinated yearly reserves reporting of the entire company assets in accordance with the Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS)
  • Facilitated engagement with the regulatory bodies and supported the yearly business planning activities.
  • Identified new technology and potential applications and engaged the contractors for technical validation and possibly implementation.
  • Coached and mentored interns on technical report writing and presentation skills.

 

Laser Engineering and Resource Consultants Limited, Petroleum Engineer | 2012-2013

  • Determined the development option and production predictions and analyzed the reservoir performance of hydrocarbon fields.
  • Generated the production optimization/nodal system analysis with well problem diagnosis.
  • Predicted reservoir sand production using the sonic logs and recommended efficient and cost-effective methods to the management.

 

Shell Petroleum Development Company, Reservoir Engineer Intern | 2008

  • Coordinated field performance review, recommendations, and documentation for the hydrocarbon field.
  • Performed reserve evaluation using decline curve analysis to evaluate the remaining reserves.

Research Interests

Stella is currently active in researching the Geological storage of CO2 and how the storage capacity can be optimized in saline formation. This work covers experimental and numerical simulation models using the Petrel/Eclipse Software. In addition, 

Stella is a member of the Texas Produced Water Consortium, which is heavily invested in bringing together information and resources to study the economics and technologies related to Produced Water beneficiary reuse.
